LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- ISP Sellersburg Post Detectives are investigating after a fatal structure fire in Scott County on Wednesday evening.
The Austin Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire in the 1000 block of West Harrod Road around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, just northeast of Austin.
Fire officials discovered a deceased man inside the home while extinguishing the blaze.
The man was later identified as Robert David Bowling Jr., 61, of Austin.
The Scott County Sheriff's Department was called, who then requested assistance from ISP.
Investigators were on the scene until around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
The case is still under investigation; however, no foul play is suspected.
