Louisville airport winter storm preps 1-23-2026

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- This week's winter weather isn't just causing problems on the roads, it's also causing some travel trouble at Louisville's airport.

According to Flight Aware, 92 flights have been canceled in the last 24 hours at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

In a video posted on X Monday, the airport said snow teams have been working nonstop since Saturday morning to clear the runways.

This weekend's winter storm has impacted much of the United States and left airlines scrambling to recover.

More than 11,600 flights were scrubbed Sunday, making it the worst day for canceled flights since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Airports said things were better overall on Monday compared to the weekend, but 14% of flights were still canceled.
