Woman dies after 'domestic incident' in Okolona, Louisville police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a woman died following a "domestic incident" in Okolona on Wednesday.

Officers were initially called to a reported shooting in the 5000 block of Greenbridge Way around 7:15 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a written statement. That's off Jefferson Boulevard and the Outer Loop, near Jefferson Mall.

Once on scene, police found a woman who had "sustained multiple blunt force trauma," Mitchell said. She was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where she later died.

Police believe she was injured in a "domestic incident."

Mitchell said LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating, and is "following leads at this time." So far no arrests have been made.
