LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Mirrors here, there and everywhere — a new reflective exhibit will open this week at Louisville's Speed Art Museum.
Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room "Lets Survive Forever" is set to open this Friday, July 12.
Museum officials said the exhibit blurs the line between reality and imagination, and offers a unique experience of self-reflection and optical play.
The exhibit includes stainless steel balls, suspended from the ceiling and arranged on the floor.
Visitors are surrounded by the mirrored space and only get 90 seconds to experience the room.
This is the first time an infinity room has been presented in Kentucky. The work is on loan from the Art Gallery of Ontario, in Toronto, Canada.
"The image of yourself is replicated hundreds of times in all directions," said Raphaela Platow, director of the Speed Art Museum. "This room is truly special. It took a tremendous effort to install. It looks very effortless right now, but it took us one month of very intense installation time."
