LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Ethan Hawke was in Louisville on Wednesday for a Q&A session before a screening of his new film that was partially filmed in the city.

The actor and director filmed parts of "Wildcat" in the Louisville area last year. It stars his daughter, Maya Hawke, playing the celebrated Southern Gothic writer Flannery O'Connor.

The Speed Art Museum is hosting screenings of the film, which follows O'Connor's writings and the themes featured in them.

Hawke was in town Wednesday for a Q&A at the Speed before the first of several screenings of the film being held there.

The group 502 Film helps connect visiting productions with resources. Its president said "Wildcat" highlights Louisville's beauty.

"They brought on a ton of local crew, utilized a lot of local vendors, and beautiful towns all surrounding Louisville," said Soozie Eastman, president of 502 Film. "So it's really not only an homage to Flannery O'Connor, but for those of us that live in the Louisville area. It's a great chance to see our beautiful city shine up on the big screen."

The Speed will be showing the film through May 26. It's already sold out 1,000 advance tickets, but there are more available. Tickets cost $12, or $8 for Speed members.
