The sudden evaporation of business at the Omni Louisville and Marriott Downtown could mean millions in added costs for Metro government, which borrowed money years ago to help build the marquee hotels.
“Regrettably, it now appears that the length and severity of the direct effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business operations are greater than previously were foreseeable,” Omni Hotel general manager Scott Stuckey said in a letter made public Monday.
Representatives of Omni Louisville Hotel say they want to make sure front-line hospital workers are getting the rest they need.
