Louisville Metro Animal Services has gotten nine complaints about Puppygram since it opened in April 2022, but none of them resulted in violations.
The proposed ordinance comes after a WDRB investigation uncovered sick puppies being sold at a local pet shop, Puppygram on Hurstbourne Parkway.
Metro Council approved an ordinance Thursday night that bans such stores from selling dogs and cats, targeting those that operate as puppy or kitten mills.
