This a question we on the weather team are asked a lot this time of year. Generally the rule of thumb is to wait until after Mother's Day to be safe, but we dug through the records to see if there's a better date we can give you that's more specific to our area.

This weekend starts chilly, sees rain, then ends with some sunshine and higher temperatures. To kick it off, nearly all our communities are under a Frost Advisory overnight.

We had our first extended stretch of fall-like air. last week, and temperatures are about to dip again. Fall is starting to settle in, so let's take a look at when the first frost or freeze of the season may happen.

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Saturday morning that includes some of our WDRB communities. Jennings, Jefferson (IN), Trimble, and Henry county go under a Frost Advisory 3 AM - 10 AM Saturday. 

With all the warm air we've had recently, the question is coming up more often "is it safe to plant my spring garden yet?" NO! There are two days in the forecast this week with temperatures dipping below freezing and tonight patchy frost is possible.
