Police said the driver lost control of the vehicle and went onto the shoulder, rolling down an embankment before crashing upside down.
The project was scheduled to wrap up in late 2023, then spring 2024, and now, the latest information from KYTC shows construction will be complete in the fall of 2024.
The project is in the study phase, and KYTC said it could still be years before any changes are made.
Police said they'd received calls about pedestrians in the road before the crash happened.
