With arms wrapped around each other, shoulders to lean on, and familiar faces to hug. In the heart of the city, Louisvillians took the time to try and heal their hearts.

An employee armed with a rifle opened fire at Old National Bank on Main Street Monday morning.

Michael Carneal was a 14-year-old freshman on Dec. 1, 1997, when he fired a stolen pistol at a before-school prayer group in the lobby of Heath High School, near Paducah, Kentucky.

The shooting happened in 1997, when Carneal was 14. Three students were killed.

Police say it does not appear as if any of these shootings are related.

"We need people to collectively say 'enough is enough,'" said LMPD Assistant Chief Josh Judah. 

LMPD does not believe these shootings are related and no arrests have been made.

The lawsuit names more a dozen individuals it says were negligent and failed to prevent the attack.
