Dozens of Louisville artists have spent weeks working on thousands of pumpkins ahead of the Jack O'Lantern Spectacular, a fall tradition in Iroquois Park that kicks off Tuesday.
The Jack O’Lantern Spectacular draws people from all over every year to one of Kentuckiana's favorite Halloween events. But before a sigh of relief can be let out, dozens of artists and workers are making sure the 2022 iteration lives up to its name.
Pumpkins are placed all around the room, waiting to be carved as the stack of cardboard boxes piles up.
The trail returns on Oct. 4, and organizers say they expect big crowds.
In a news release from the Parks Alliance of Louisville, officials said they expect tens of thousands of people to visit the park for the annual fall and winter events.
To minimize overcrowding, the Parks Alliance is selling tickets at specific time slots.
The theme in 2021 is "Changing the Channel: A Timeline of Television History."
The two-hour event was held during the afternoon, while the pumpkins and pathways were still illuminated by daylight.
