Several interstate ramps are closing in Louisville to get ready for I-65 shutting down this summer to replace aging bridges.

Interstate 65 South will close overnight Tuesday, April 7, and Friday, April 10, as crews continue work on the second and final phase of a project to replace expansion joints on the Kennedy Bridge.

The project is expected to be finished this fall.

The extension is intended to spread traffic more evenly across area interchanges and improve access to southern Elizabethtown.

Crews are shutting down lanes from Taylorsville Road to Bonnycastle Avenue.

Drivers in downtown Louisville may encounter a bumpier commute as the city continues work to convert Main Street into a two-way corridor.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will start demolition work on I-264 as part of a $130 million improvement project on the Watterson Expressway and Brownsboro Road.
