There is good news on the employment front for Kentucky residents.
The state's unemployment rate decreased to 3.9% in 2022, from 4.4% in 2021. It's the lowest since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began reporting state unemployment rates in 1976.Â
Since its creation in 1938, Kentucky unemployment insurance was available for up to 26 weeks — or half a year.
