In July, a strange smell led to the discovery of 31 bodies and 17 cremated remains at the Lankford Funeral Home on Middle Road in Jeffersonville.

Weeks after several bodies were discovered at a southern Indiana funeral home, the business owner appeared in court for the first time. 

It's part of an investigation into the Lankford Funeral Home and Family Center in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Late last week and over the weekend, investigators found 31 bodies and remains inside the Lankford Funeral Home and Family Center.

Authorities also found the post-cremation remains of 16 people.
