Crews have begun demolishing the long-vacant Urban Government Center in Paristown, clearing the site for a planned $250 million redevelopment.

It was first constructed as the Louisville Elks Lodge and boasted high-end amenities of the pre-war era, including a pool in the basement, bowling alleys and billiards rooms.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said an overnight ramp closure on I-71 north and lane closures on I-264 west on Monday in Jefferson County.

Earlier this month, Louisville Water launched a multi-year project to rehabilitate a 130-year-old water main along Oak and Dumesnil streets.

Those rolling road blocks will start between 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, and then are scheduled to take place again around the same time on Thursday and Friday. 

Drivers have said that since the closure, it's been nothing but slowdowns and delays for both sides of the river.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on West Broadway, between South 39th Street and Louisville Coleman Jr. Drive will shift to outer parking lanes so crews can access manholes in the roadway. 

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) said the roadway known as "hospital curve" will have lane closures as a contractor collects concrete cores in bridge decks as part of a rehabilitation assessment of six bridges around that area.

Work to "right-size" an intersection at Taylor Boulevard and Winkler Avenue in south Louisville near Churchill Downs was planned to begin in late August.
