The Louisville Orchestra’s Buy One, Give One campaign donates a free ticket to a community member for every ticket purchased through Dec. 31.
The Humana Foundation is awarding $12 million in grants nationwide to help seniors stay connected and maintain their well-being.
The Louisville Orchestra is set to play several world premieres this weekend.
Some of the proceeds from ticket sales were donated to 50 organizations.
Organizations benefiting from “Winsday” include Boys & Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana, Feed Louisville, The Louisville Orchestra, and many others.
Some kids will even get the chance to conduct the orchestra or have their own musical creations played.
The upcoming season will blend together classical masterpieces with a rich variety of musical experiences, world premieres, and cross-genre collaborations.
No Place Like Home is kicking off Friday and Saturday at Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center in downtown Louisville.
It's a huge piece of music -- so big in fact that the orchestra plays it only about once every 10 years.
The concert is a free event for families to enjoy at River Ridge in Jeffersonville.
