Mitchell Hill Road, near Top Hill Road, has been closed since intense rainfall caused significant damage, including a slope failure.

Mayor Craig Greenberg announced an action plan on Friday to remove debris and restore flood-damaged areas. 

"When you can't see the bottom, that's a problem."

But the pause in construction won't mean the end of the project. 

The $12 million is focused on a 1-mile stretch of East Market Street from Brook Street to Baxter Avenue.

Mayor Craig Greenberg made the announcement Tuesday as part of his weekly briefing, saying it will allow Louisville to cut through red tape when moving forward with infrastructure projects. 

You'll be seeing more crews out there fixing potholes. Mayor Craig Greenberg said there are 11 teams of five that work across the city.

The Kentucky Science Center is hosting the Touch a Truck event on Saturday, June 10.

Some were working off Dixie Highway, near the intersection of Maryman Road and Nancy Lane, on Tuesday.
