The patching is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on I-264 West between mile markers 22 and 23, near U.S. 42 and Brownsboro Road.

The work zone is near the intersections of Riverside Beach Road, Captain's Quarters Road, and River Creek Drive.

Work to perform bridge joint replacements on I-65 at "Hospital Curve" was scheduled to begin Friday and continue through the weekend. There was also a planned closure of I-65 southbound, but it has now been postponed. 

LMPD said the tractor trailer was going southbound when the driver lost control for an unknown reason and hit the rail of the bridge.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Saturday. 

The LMPD Traffic Unit is handling the investigation. 

INDOT advised drivers to find alternate routes, mainly Interstates 265 and 65 between Kentucky and Indiana.

Signs will be in place to alert drivers of active construction zones and closures.
