When Kentucky lawmakers meet next month for the 2024 Regular Session of the General Assembly, school vouchers are expected to be brought up. Kentucky Youth Advocates hosted a panel discussion with varying opinions on what vouchers would mean for the state and its students. Vouchers would allow qualifying families to receive a credit to attend alternative schools, like private schools, but opponents say it would take away from public school funding.
The funding will eliminate student loan debt for students with balances from Spring 2020 to Spring 2021.

The Indiana State Board of Education voted Wednesday in favor of giving two-year probationary accreditation to online school plans for GEO Focus Academy and FaithPrep.
The debate is happening as the state Senate considers the school voucher expansion bill approved by the House last month.
Those who oppose the bill say it would take millions of dollars away from already under-funded public schools.
