Almost 9,000 wreaths were placed on the graves of servicemembers by volunteers at Zachary Taylor Cemetery at 4701 Brownsboro Road.

Tractor trailers brought 8,784 wreaths to the cemetery that were unloaded by volunteers. 

There is one week left to sponsor wreaths for an annual ceremony held at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.

This is the ninth year for saluting branches.

The deadline is Nov. 30 to raise money for the wreaths that will be placed on veterans' graves at Zachary Taylor Cemetery

"We want to keep their memory alive by keeping their vehicles running."
