LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new behind-the-scenes documentary series following Louisville basketball coach Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals program will debut this week on Sports Illustrated’s streaming platform.

Sports Illustrated announced Tuesday that “Marching Into Madness,” a five-part docuseries produced in partnership with Fresh Features and Rough House Pictures, will premiere Friday on SI TV, the magazine’s free ad-supported streaming channel.

The first two chapters will drop Friday at 9 a.m. ET, just ahead of the start of the NCAA Tournament.

The series provides an all-access look at Kelsey and the Louisville program as he transitions from mid-major success at the College of Charleston to the pressures of leading one of college basketball’s most tradition-rich programs.

According to Sports Illustrated, filmmakers have followed Kelsey and his staff for the past three years, capturing both the behind-the-scenes moments of a college basketball season and the challenges of building and managing a major program.

“I am incredibly thrilled to finally have this documentary released,” Kelsey said in a statement. “This crew has been following my staff for three years, and it chronicles the ups and downs of a college basketball season and the lives of those involved, both on and off the court.”

The five-episode series will roll out over the next week:

Friday, March 13

  • Chapter 1: Ride or Die

  • Chapter 2: The Honeymoon is Over

Wednesday, March 18

  • Chapter 3: Zero, Zero

  • Chapter 4: Blue and Bloodied

Friday, March 20

  • Chapter 5: Bring on the Madness

The series is directed by Matthew Allen and executive produced by Fresh Features, Rough House Pictures, Chris Pappas and Kevin Barnett.

It also includes appearances and commentary from Louisville basketball alum and seven-time NBA All-Star Donovan Mitchell and longtime ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas, who serve as producers on the project. Media personality and former college athlete Caleb Pressley narrates the series.

Sports Illustrated said the documentary will include footage from this year’s ACC Tournament and Selection Sunday, capturing the final stretch of Louisville’s season as it unfolds.

The project is part of Sports Illustrated’s expansion into streaming video through SI TV, which the company says has seen significant audience growth across its video platforms.
