LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Louisville junior guard Hercy Miller will undergo a hip procedure in California and will miss the rest of the season, the program announced Monday.
Miller has dealt with ongoing hip issues since arriving in Louisville and had attempted to play through it before seeking outside consultation. He had missed the past four games and played only five minutes in Louisville’s loss at Wake Forest after starting the three games prior to that.
Miller unexpectedly got the start in Louisville’s win at Miami, playing seven minutes and dishing out an assist. He played three minutes in a start against N.C. State and 10 minutes in a start at North Carolina.
Miller, the son of famed rapper Master P, appeared in 27 games as a sophomore transfer from Tennessee State, averaging 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per outing. He scored a career high 10 points in a loss at Pittsburgh.
This season, Miller played in 10 games, averaging 1.1 points per game, after playing in just one of the team’s first eight games.
