LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville High School won its first boys basketball state championship since 1993.
Jeffersonville (24-5) defeated Fishers, a team that went into the IHSAA Class 4A state final as the defending champion and undefeated. Fishers missed a shot at the buzzer and Jeffersonville held onto a 67-66 win in Indianapolis for the school's second state title.
Fishers had a 43-game winning streak going into the game, but Jeffersonville built up a lead. The Red Devils led by as many nine points.
Shawn Boyd hit three 3-pointrs and Tre Singleton scored 10 straight points in the second half for Jeffersonville.
After the teams were tied in regulation, Jeffersonville found a way to win. Elijah Cheeks scored on a pass from Singleton to put the Red Devils up one.
