LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Kentucky Derby Festival tradition took to the streets of Louisville Saturday.
The fourth annual Zoeller Pump Company Derby Festival Touring Parade kicked off the festival's month-long celebration.
Twenty units and floats took part as the route went past several parks like Chickasaw and Iroquois before ending at PRP High School.
Each year the route changes to give more people a chance to enjoy it.
"To see the light up of people's eyes, see people walk out of their front door on this thing and be able to look and clap and things like that - that is completely it - that is definitely the best part," Dwight Newton, with Zoeller Pump Co., said.
This is the first year the touring parade stopped at local parks as it was a way to meet more people a tie up less traffic.
The annual parade down Broadway takes place Sunday, April 28.
