LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville men's basketball will host Kansas in a preseason exhibition game at the KFC Yum! Center on Friday, Oct. 24.

The game marks a rare meeting between two tradition-rich programs and is part of a home-and-home exhibition agreement. Louisville will make a return trip to Kansas for an exhibition during the 2026-27 season.

Tip time and TV details for the October matchup are still to be announced.

Louisville is 5-6 all-time against the Jayhawks, including a 2-3 mark at home. The teams haven’t played a regular-season game since 1993.

In its college basketball Top 25 "reset" after spring transfers, The Athletic ranks Louisville No. 6 nationally and Kansas No. 15.

It will mark a return to the KFC Yum! Center for Tre White, who played for the Cards during Kenny Payne's final season and transferred to Kansas after playing 2024-25 at Illinois.

Early season exhibitions have taken on a bit more urgency for the coming season with a Week 2 matchup against Kentucky in the KFC Yum! Center looming on the schedule. UK has scheduled exhibitions against Georgetown and Purdue.

New NCAA rules now allow up to two preseason exhibitions against Division I opponents without a waiver.
