Louisville volleyball falls in the NCAA region semifinals

Texas A&M completes a reverse sweep to beat the Cards in five sets. 

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — U of L volleyball was making a fifth consecutive region semifinal appearance and was in good shape to advance to an 8th Elite Eight after scoring the last eight points of the second set to go up two sets to none against Texas A&M. 

But, the Aggies won a close third set, controlled the fourth set and then won a back and forth fifth set to send the Cardinals home from Lincoln, Nebraska with a difficult defeat Friday night.

The final scores were 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-18 and 15-12. The reverse sweep ended Louisville's very successful first season under head coach Dan Meske with a record of 26-7, six of those losses came in fifth sets.
