LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDRB) -- Pleasure Ridge Park baseball is one win away from its first state championship since 2017.
The Panthers defeated Trinity, 7-6, on Friday at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington. They will face either Owensboro Catholic or McCracken County in the state final at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Shamrocks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning before PRP responded with two runs of its own in the third.
A four-run fifth inning launched the Panthers ahead. Trinity struck for two runs in the fifth and seventh, but PRP held on to punch a ticket to the title game.
