LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One of the biggest reasons Louisville City Football Club set multiple club records in 2024 will be back to attempt to do the same in 2025.
According to a source with knowledge of the negotiations, LouCity and 2024 USL Championship Player of the Year finalist Taylor Davila agreed to a new, multi-year contract. The 24-year-old midfielder was one of the most dangerous players in the USL last season.

Davila was a key connector for a Louisville attack that set a new club high with 86 goals. He created 75 chances, which was good for second in the league. Davila also scored seven goals and added six assists, both career highs, while starting 32 of 34 regular season matches.Â
LouCity now has 19 players officially returning from a squad that achieved a club first in winning the USL Championship's Players' Shield for the most regular-season points. Louisville hopes the reload of talent means 2025 ends with a third league trophy after its historic run surprisingly ended early with a failure to reach the Eastern Conference Final for the first time in 10 seasons of existence.
