LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Natalie Svidal swept her three individual events at the Kentucky State Single A track and field meet for the second straight year Thursday in Lexington. And she still has another year to go.

The Walden School junior won the 100 meter hurdles in 14.57 seconds. She won the triple jump with a leap of 37-03.25 and the long jump, going 17-11.5.

She won those events last year as a sophomore and then won the same three during the indoor state championships. That makes nine state titles in a year span.

On Wednesday, after her final practice, she said she wasn't feeling too much pressure to repeat.

"I feel like there are always expectations to live up to, but I'm just trying to have fun with it," Svidal said. "It's my junior year. It's not the end of the world if I don't win but I'll just see what I can do tomorrow."

Natalie has been learning from her older sister Amelia Svidal. Amelia was a two-time state champion for Walden in the triple jump and she just won the ASUN Championship in the triple as a sophomore.

Natalie said she always wanted to do what her big sister was doing, always thought she was very cool. Now she's not only caught her but is surpassing Amelia's lofty achievements.

Overseeing it all is their mom Chris Svidal , a track athlete in high school who kind of fell into being Walden's head coach.

"It's been incredible," Chris said. "I didn't dream of doing this. I didn't dream they would be winning state titles. So, that's just been really fun."

Natalie says it gets challenging going from one event to another during a meet but she hopes to continue with all three.

"It can be a little overwhelming at times," Natalie said. "I stress a lot about making sure I check in on time and not missing any of my jumps. But I do like having the variety and just having multiple chances to see what I can do."

Thanks in large part to Natalie, the Walden girls finished 5th at the Single A meet. Natalie's times and numbers compare very favorably with the best in the state at any level.
