Built in 2009, The Bellamy was one of the first privately developed student housing complexes to grow up around U of L’s main Belknap campus in advance of the university’s campus-living requirement for freshmen, which took effect in 2012.

The Bellamy, which caters to college students, told tenants it's "closing its doors" for renovations and that they must be out by July 26, leaving some scrambling for new housing.
Residents at the Bellamy were given a 30-day notice on Sunday that they needed to move out by July 26.
The Louisville Legal Aid Society is helping residents of the Bellamy, a large apartment complex near U of L, after the owner ordered all tenants to vacate by July 26 so it could be renovated.
