LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There is a new team that will be waking you up on the weekends.
WDRB Mornings is happy to announce that Reyna Katko and Krystal Goodner are taking over the news desk on Saturday and Sundays starting Dec. 16. They'll join meteorologist Bryce Jones to bring their professionalism and fresh perspective.
“I am excited that a new era of WDRB Mornings is taking shape. Krystal and Reyna will continue to bring our viewers the important news and interesting stories they expect. Their personalities will draw you in. They have incredible energy and positivity. They are sure to leave you smiling, especially with Bryce in the mix,” said WDRB News Director Jennifer Keeney.
Claiming she's "Derby City bred," Krystal grew up in Louisville, and she has a journalism degree from Indiana University Southeast. She started her TV career as a producer/reporter at WNDA-TV/Indiana 9 news. She has also been a familiar voice on 104.7 WLOU FM for the past 10 years.
Krystal also served in the communications department at Simmons College of Kentucky and hosted a weekly news magazine show at St. Stephen Baptist Church called "The Scene."
Reyna Katko studied journalism at the University of Missouri but started in news in high school with stories airing on WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee. She was also a reporter, producer and anchor for nearly three years at KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Missouri before coming to WDRB News in June 2023.
Krystal and Reyna are a good match with their energy, and we know you'll enjoy getting to know them as they settle in to their new roles.
Viewers can still watch Monica Harkins, as she moves to a new opportunity on the WDRB+ streaming app, which you can download for free on Roku, Fire or Apple TV.
Grace Hayba is leaving Louisville to start a new job on the East Coast.
