LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A local nonprofit is celebrating the spookiest time of the year while also helping animals in need.

The Arrow Fund is throwing a Monster Mash to help abused and neglected animals.

Just recently, the team took in a German Shepherd female and her eight puppies, all of which were in need of immediate medical attention. They are still looking for foster homes for some of the puppies and the mom.

Guests can expect Halloween-themed treats and cocktails, dancing, a silent auction and more.

Costumes are not mandatory but they're encouraged. There will be a costume contest held with exciting prizes for the most impressive, scariest and funniest costumes.

The 21-and-older event is happening from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Nunnlea House. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
