LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bourbon is a signature industry in Kentucky and its boom can be felt throughout the Commonwealth.
Mark Rucker is a Kentucky native and hosts The Bourbon Life podcast. He shares the stories of the people in the bourbon industry with guests on the show from around the world.
Rucker joined WDRB in the Morning Sunday to talk about the changes in the industry and what he expects from the future.
"It's been pretty exciting times the past few years. There's been a lot of expansion. A lot of the distilleries are growing," he said.
With expansions, there's also more to experience and do on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Some bourbon fans might also recognize a slight price increase in the industry.
"I think a lot of the bourbon distilleries realized other brands like scotch, and things like that, were a little bit higher priced, so I think now they're realizing that they can charge a little bit more," Rucker said.
He said for a single barrel bottle of bourbon you can expect to pay $40 to $50.
Even with all the growth in the last decade, Rucker said there's still room for more brands.
Rucker and his co-host Matt Hughes release a new episode of The Bourbon Life every Friday on wherever you get your podcasts.
