The Healing Place gets a helping hand from Good Belly Sandwich Shop

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Good Belly Sandwich Shop wants to fill your belly for a good cause.

WDRB's Keith Kaiser learns how the New York style deli is helping the Healing Place.

Good Belly specializes in homemade corned beef, pastrami, and other hand-crafted sandwiches as well as soups, sides, and desserts.

The Healing Place is an addiction recovery program that provides essential support to nearly 1,000 men and women daily.

From January 22nd to February 12th, Good Belly will be hosting a special collection drive to collect needed items for the Healing Place.

The items include Blankets, Pillows, Twin-size sheets, Winter jackets for men and women, Winter apparel (including socks, hats, gloves and Hygiene items such as toothbrushes, soap, and shampoo (travel sizes).

In addition to collecting the useful items, they wanted to do another Pop-Up Event.

On February 7th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, GB’s Chicken & Waffles Pop-Up menu will include Wings & Waffles, Chicken Quarter & Waffles and Banana Bread Waffles.

Menu items are available while supplies last and 10% of the evening's sales will be donated to The Healing Place.

Every donation helps provide food, shelter, clothing, and access to a nationally-recognized recovery program at no cost to those striving for sobriety.
