...Spring Flood And Water Resources Outlook...

Summary: The flood risk in the middle of the Ohio Valley is normal to below normal for this time of year. The lack of snowpack means no additional liquid will be added to heavy rainfall events.

Minor flooding is expected due to rainfall and thunderstorms with isolated moderate flooding possible. This is nothing unusual late winter into spring as storms tap into rich moisture from Gulf of Mexico.

The following slides go into more detail about the hydrologic outlook for spring. It also highlights the Green and Kentucky River having a 10-25% chance or greater of isolated moderate flooding.
