On Wednesday, the town said in a news release the 18-acre property was purchased for $350,000 from Marathon Oil, who leased the park to the town for only $1 per year. Â
Construction this spring will close the man road leading to Ashland Park, making the area a bit tougher to access for Thunder Over Louisville in April.
Town officials said the 11-month, $7 million reconstruction project announced in December is set to begin this month.
