LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The town of Clarksville is inviting residents to learn more about the upcoming Riverside Drive reconstruction project.

A meeting is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, in the lobby of the Bolt + Tie Apartments at 1400 Main St., next to the construction area. Project leaders are expected to give a short presentation on the project, then residents will have the chance to ask questions about the work.

Town officials said the 11-month, $7 million reconstruction projectĀ announced in DecemberĀ is set to begin this month. It will add new sidewalks, bike paths, crosswalks, street parking and lighting.

The Indiana Department of Transportation provided 80% of the funding for the project, with the Town of Clarksville's Redevelopment Commission covering the remaining 20%.

The project is estimated to be finished in November 2024. During construction, Riverside Drive will close to vehicle traffic. People will still be able to walk and bike through the construction zone to get to Ashland Park and the Ohio River Greenway.

Those who can't attend the meeting in person can watch a recording that will be posted on the Town of Clarksville website following the meeting.
