Barges that got loose on the Ohio River in Louisville on March 28, 2023

A total of 10 barges got loose early Tuesday on the river near Louisville, the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet said.
That was the message from Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and other officials Wednesday afternoon.
Salvage operations began Tuesday morning to remove two barges stuck in the Ohio River, one of which is loaded with methanol, a toxic chemical.
