The guardrails on the nearly 100-year-old bridge were inspected in September 2023, but no one anticipated a crash would send a tractor-trailer through the barrier and steel supports.Â
It happened early Friday afternoon after a crash on the Second Street Bridge between a semi, a pickup truck and two passenger vehicles.Â
The team said it was their training and experience that led to success.
