When the winter weather gets bad, Bill Briscoe is usually one of the first voices New Albany-Floyd County parents hear.

Assistant Superintendent Bill Briscoe is retiring after 44 years with New Albany Floyd County Schools.
The New Albany Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation Board of Trustees voted 6-1 Wednesday for Briscoe to continue serving as interim superintendent after the abrupt retirement of Superintendent Brad Snyder last week. Board member Lee Ann Wiseheart was the lone “no” vote.
The board of trustees plans to open the search for a new superintendent again early next year.
