A person who suffered a medical emergency was rescued from a vehicle that went into the Ohio River at the Greenwood Boat Ramp in southwest Jefferson County around 6:20 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, according to Louisville police.

Three teenagers who were fishing nearby saw the boat go into the water, and two of them jumped into the river. They swam to the vehicle and helped get the driver out.Â
PRP High School students Abraham Cruz, his brother Jacob Cruz, and their friend Kenay Valdes had just arrived to the Greenwood Boat Ramp to do some fishing when they noticed people running.
