LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More than 400 juveniles have been short or killed in Louisville in the last five years.  WDRB is working to look "Beyond the Bullets" by hosting a roundtable on youth violence with those impacted by it, involved in it and working to stop it.

WDRB airs a 30-minute special "Beyond the Bullets | A conversation on Louisville youth violence," hosted by Gil Corsey on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. It will focus on organizations and individuals working to stop the violence killing our city's future.

Christian-based non-profit with record expungement, preventive education classes, counseling, job opportunities, college scholarships and more

Afterschool and summer programming for teens and preteens in Smoketown. Also offers job placement, job training, housing opportunities, GED testing

The Spot Young Adult Opportunity Center

Free career resources for young adults ages 16-24. Job and college tours, career training, GED prep, help with court-involvement and paid internships

The Excel Center

Help to earn high school diploma, career coaches, transportation assistance, and free on-site childcare during classes. Open to any Kentucky resident who doesn't have a high school diploma.

Boys and Girls Haven

Residential therapeutic foster care, transitional living programs, family counseling services and animal-assisted healing. Independence Readiness Program designed for homeless young adults ages 18-24; provides career preparation and life-skills education.

Kentucky Youth Advocates

Partners with legislators to enact policies that benefit youth and their families. Helps guide families who don't know where to turn through complex systems and challenges.

City Life provides mentors for those facing violence, homelessness, abuse and neglect; includes after-school and summer programming

Pivot to Peace

Hospital-based program for stabbing and shooting victims to identify and address the factors in their lives that put them at risk. Includes violence intervention assistance, case management services and mental health support.

Home of the Innocents Mental & Behavioral Health

Addresses the factors that contribute to antisocial behavior in kids and teens. Typically serves violent and substance-abusing children ages 12-17.

Transformative Justice

Specialized mental health services from psychologists, therapists and case managers. Individual and group therapy, psychological & cognitive assessments.

Child & Family TAYLRD Drop-in Center

Offers mental health services, case management, community support, computer/laundry access, drop-in meals and snacks, life skills group and more.
