LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A popular east Louisville tradition returned Sunday, bringing in the spirit of fall, all for a good cause.

The 11th annual Chunkin' Pumpkins returned to Captain's Quarters on River Road to support breast cancer research.

Guests could buy pumpkins then have them catapulted into the Ohio River as a judge measures the distance.

The proceeds benefited Hope Scarves and Twisted Pink, two local organizations in support of breast cancer research.

There was a lot of food, drinks and raffles. The goal this year is to raise $75,000.
