LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Bardstown Road near Tyler Park and the Cherokee Triangle neighborhoods in Louisville will closed to vehicles on Sunday for an event that promotes health and wellness.

The Tom Owen CycLOUvia gives people the chance to safely bicycle, scoot, skate, run, walk and roll down Bardstown Road.

"CycLOUvia is a celebration of our community’s commitment to sustainability, health, and togetherness," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a news release. "By temporarily transforming our streets into vibrant, car-free spaces, we invite everyone to experience the enjoyment of cycling, walking, and connecting with neighbors in a whole new way."

Bardstown Road will be closed to cars from Grinstead Drive to Douglass Boulevard. Louisville Metro Police will direct crossings at Eastern Parkway for vehicles. The event goes from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

LMPD released traffic plans for CycLOUvia:

Bardstown Road from Douglass Boulevard to Grinstead Drive will be closed from 1:45 p.m. to 6:10 p.m. No parking along that route will allowed starting at noon.
