LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The D'Angelo Russell Foundation helped get turkeys to those who need it this time of year.
The foundation on Saturday hosted its third annual Thanksgiving turkey drive at the Goodwill West Louisville Opportunity Center on W. Broadway.
Prayer Changes Things, Kroger, and the Dallas Mavericks also helped with the organization and donations.
In the first year of the event, 100 turkeys were donated, and this year more than 4,200 were donated.
"We are from this area, which motivated a lot of our efforts and our work," said Antonio Russell, foundation vice president. "We pulled all our resources together and made something special happen for the community."
