LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A bar and grill in east Louisville is continuing a mission it started more than a decade ago to collect Thanksgiving turkeys for people in need.

Last year, Brownies the Shed Grille and Bar off Hurstbourne Lane collected more than 2,500 turkeys and 3,000 canned goods during its TURKEY STOCK event, and organizers are hoping for even more this year.

This is the 12th year for TURKEY STOCK, organized by entrepreneur Joey Wagner of the J Wagner Group and Brownies the Shed Grille and Bar, to collect frozen turkeys and canned goods for Kentucky Harvest.

Wagner needs the community to step up in force again this year, and hopes to collect 5,000 turkeys in honor of his partner, and TURKEY STOCK co-founder Jason Brown, who passed away unexpectedly on  Sept. 11 of this year.

The public is requested to drop off frozen turkeys and canned goods between noon and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Plainview business located at 9900 Linn Station Road.
