LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Blood Center is celebrating Baptist Health's 100th anniversary with blood drives this December.
KBC supplies blood for 70 hospitals in Kentuckiana, including the entire Baptist Health system. Kentucky Blood Center is the exclusive blood provider for UK HealthCare, Baptist Health, CHI Saint Joseph, Appalachian Regional Healthcare and more.
According to a news release Monday, one in seven patients admitted to a hospital receive blood.
Blood donors will receive a t-shirt celebrating Baptist Health's 100th anniversary.
To celebrate those who have donated and saved lives, volunteers who give blood will receive a special edition 100th anniversary T-shirt. There will be two locations open for donations in December:
- Baptist Health La Grange, Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 1–5 p.m. at 1025 New Moody Lane in La Grange
- Baptist Health Louisville, Friday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Charles & Mimi Osborn Cancer Center, Conference Rooms 146-147, 4003 Kresge Way in Louisville
