LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- You could spend Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom this year.
For the first time ever, the park is extending its season by 24 days. From Nov. 29 through Jan. 4, the park will put up more than 1 million lights and invite guests to do holiday activities like making Christmas cookies and snow tubing.
"We truly appreciate Kentucky Kingdom stepping up and furthering their investment in Louisville with this new programming," Cleo Battle, president and CEO of Louisville Tourism, said in a news release. "Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom will up the ante of our city’s attractions to help keep Louisville competitive throughout the holiday season. We fully expect Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom to draw visitors from all around the country, giving guests the opportunity to experience Louisville’s many tourism assets while they are in town."
Santa will also be there. The experience includes "Classic Christmas," "Holly Jolly Junction," "Santa's Village" and "Snow Zone."
Kentucky Kingdom is spending $8 million on its Christmas celebration. You can get in with a general admission ticket or season pass.
And season passholders can visit the park on Nov. 24 for an exclusive sneak peak.
