LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky State Fair is in full swing and continues all next week, but sometimes it can be hard to work in a visit with children while schools are in session.
A little-known state law gives parents in Kentucky an opportunity to take the kiddos to the fair on a weekday by getting an excused absence from school for a field trip.
It takes just four simple answers to make it happen: the student's name, school, contact email, and whether you'd like an explanation of the statute that allows kids to visit the fair.

Once the online form has been completed and submitted, parents will be emailed a document that contains the necessary details to provide to the teacher or school's administration.
