LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Catholic Charities of Louisville is helping feed families in need this Thanksgiving.
Sister Visitor Center serves people in west Louisville. The food pantry manager there said she's noticed more people coming in during the government shutdown.
As they come in, she said she's encouraging people to sign up for Thanksgiving meals. The pantry will pass out boxes with turkey or ham.
"We'll have mashed potatoes, stuffing mix. We will have yams, cranberry sauce, things to make a pumpkin pie, anything that you need for Thanksgiving will be in this section," Laura Williams said.
Families can sign up now and pick up the meals in November. It's a partnership between the Sister Visitor Sister and Saint Michael Catholic Church.
The Sister Visitor Center also has shelves of Thanksgiving sides for anyone to choose from.
